KinesiologyGait Analysis
See exactly how you move, before you try to fix it. A detailed assessment of your walking or running mechanics, to find the real cause of nagging pain instead of guessing at it.
What is Gait Analysis?
Gait analysis is a close look at how you walk or run — stride length, knee angle, weight distribution, pronation, and how your whole body moves through each step. A kinesiologist observes and measures these patterns to find the mechanical root of pain or inefficiency.
It's especially useful when pain shows up somewhere other than where the actual problem starts — a hip issue driving knee pain, for example, or a weak glute changing how your foot lands.
You'll walk or run (often on a treadmill) while your kinesiologist observes and, where useful, records video to review key positions frame by frame. Expect questions about your training, footwear and injury history.
What Conditions Can Gait Analysis Treat?
- Chronic knee, hip or lower back pain
- Heel pain and plantar fasciitis
- Shin splints
- Ankle instability
- Recurring running injuries
What Are the Benefits of Gait Analysis?
- Identifies the true mechanical cause of pain, not just where it hurts
- Flags whether footwear or orthotics are contributing
- Reduces injury risk through better movement awareness
- Feeds directly into a personalized exercise program
How Do I Know If Gait Analysis Is Right for Me?
This is a good fit for athletes and runners, but also for anyone whose walking pattern has changed because of pain, surgery or age — you don't need to be training for anything to benefit.
